DELFINIA HOTEL
Right on the water, a few steps outside Molyvos on the north coast of Lesvos, Delfinia Hotel looks out to the Aegean on one side and, on the other, to the village climbing its hill up to the castle. The hotel is in the middle of a renewal: the rooms and suites have been redesigned in natural materials and a calm palette, while the bungalows stay simple and warm, tucked into lush gardens. At the centre of it all is the pool. Around it, CIELO sunloungers with striped cushions line up beneath the scalloped ORAMA umbrellas, in terracotta and white, the same terracotta as the rooftops of Molyvos opposite. By the water, the woven ALCOBAS armchairs are made for long afternoons: an ouzo, a few meze and the castle across the way. A hotel where simplicity becomes luxury and the Lesvos summer moves to the rhythm of the sea.

PARGA BEACH RESORT
On the golden sand of Valtos Beach, a few steps from Parga, Parga Beach Resort faces the Venetian castle and the green hills of Epirus. Its bungalow-style rooms and suites are tucked into gardens of native plants and centuries-old olive trees, with eight pools spread among the greenery. On the beach, iroko CORPORAL sunloungers are set in rows by the water beneath green-and-white ORAMA umbrellas. At Lianolia, dinner is served with a view of the castle on ANTOINETTE armchairs with red cushions, while at Iporia friends gather around tables with BLAKE chairs under the pergola. A resort where life slows down, between the olive trees and the Ionian Sea.

ARTISAN VILLA
On a quiet estate above Planos in Zakynthos, Artisan Villa is a private four-bedroom retreat that wears its name openly: hand-troweled earthen walls, a sculptural freeform arch and a deep timber pergola lend the whole house a handmade, Anatolian-tinged calm. Everything turns inward to a long pool edged with olive trees and a single terracotta urn, where the soft, monolithic surfaces do the talking. Under the pergola, a CAVALETTO table ringed by woven-back VALLARTA armchairs sets the scene for slow poolside dinners, while a PITTSFIELD coffee table anchors a lounge in the shade of the arch. It is a holiday house that feels moulded from the island itself: intimate, tactile and completely unhurried.

ELITERRA
High on the cliffs above St Nicolas Bay in Zakynthos, Eliterra is a trio of private villas built for the view: dry-stone walls, broad sea-facing terraces and saltwater infinity pools that spill toward the Ionian. The architecture is quietly elemental, rough local stone and flat shading canopies that step down the hillside, so the furniture had to feel grown from the same ground. Solid-timber TUAMOTU sunloungers line the pool edge, while IDRIS lounge chairs and deep sofas turn the shaded terraces into open-air living rooms that soften all that stone. Around the CAVALETTO table, TUAMOTU armchairs gather guests for long sea-view meals. It is the calm of a private holiday home scaled for families and friends: tactile, unhurried and at ease with the landscape.

LESANTE CLASSIC
In Tsilivi on the green coast of Zakynthos, Lesante Classic lives up to its name: a five-star retreat of timeless, polished glamour set among palms and lagoon-like pools, where the island's easy rhythm sets the pace. The mood is classic Riviera, all sinuous pool decks, fringed parasols and manicured lawns made for slow, sunlit days. Along the water, PLEXUS sunloungers and EUPHORIA daybeds settle beneath scalloped ORAMA umbrellas, while the sea-view terraces turn more refined at dinner, with VITTORIA armchairs drawn up to tables that face nothing but open horizon. Every piece is made for the open air yet carries the hotel's understated formality, the kind of comfortable elegance that lets the Ionian light do the talking.

FOUQUET'S
Fouquet's Mykonos opened in June 2026 as the Barrière group's first address in Greece, and the fifth to carry the name after Paris, New York, Courchevel and Saint-Barthélemy. Set above Paraga, on the island's southern shore, its sixty suites and three villas were drawn by Divercity Architects in a pared-back Cycladic language: dry-stone walls, timber pergolas laid with cane, terraces that step down towards the water, many with a pool of their own. The Parisian name arrives here without its formality, and the furniture was chosen to keep it that way. On the suite terraces, the MILIANA sofa and the low MONTE CARLO lounge chairs sit deep and close to the ground, while ERNAK WOOD armchairs gather around the outdoor dining tables, natural wood in conversation with the stone. A grand hotel that behaves like a private house, with Mykonos at arm's length and the Aegean directly in front.

NALU LATCHI
On the Latchi coast of Cyprus, beside the Akamas peninsula and the Blue Lagoon, NALU is Leonardo's newest five-star resort, opened in 2026 around a simple idea: "a place to belong". Rather than a single block, it spreads like a small neighbourhood of low, sand-toned buildings around a freeform pool with a striking chevron-tiled floor, shaded by fan palms and a sweeping slatted pergola. By the water, ranks of ABRIL sunloungers and ORAMA parasols set the easy beach-club tempo, while the pergola's shade gathers MATIGNON chairs around long tables for lunches that drift into the afternoon. Off to one side, low MAYLIN sofas and armchairs with a SERONE table make a softer lounge for the golden hour. It is polished but unbuttoned, a family resort built for long, breezy Mediterranean days.

PARADISO VILLAS
Paradiso Villas occupy a small peninsula at Ammoudi, on the quiet north-east coast of Zakynthos, where the land runs out between pines and olive trees and the Ionian lies on three sides. The architecture takes its cue from the island itself: rough local stone, reed-covered pergolas, curtains of knotted rope that filter the light instead of blocking it. Life here is lived outside, and the furniture follows it, from the CIELO sunloungers lined along the infinity pool under DELUXE umbrellas to the BROSSARD lounge armchairs in the shaded sitting room of the pergola. Indoors the villa stays just as unhurried, all warm plaster and natural fibres, with SPLIT stools drawn up to the kitchen island. It is a house for people who came to hear the sea, and who plan to do very little else.

VERDANTE VILLAS
In the green hills of northern Zakynthos, a short walk from St Nicolas Bay, Verdante is a small collection of private-pool villas that practises a studied minimalism: natural materials, clean volumes and a quintessential seaview calm drawn from the raw Ionian landscape. Rubble-stone walls meet poured-cement terraces and a reed pergola, with an infinity pool reaching out over the valley. ERMITA II armchairs sit by the water's edge, while under the pergola a CAVALETTO table and RENDOVA armchairs hold the shaded dining spot, their open cord weave echoing the woven roof above. Indoors, ANDANTE stools draw up to the kitchen island, carrying the same quiet line inside. It is secluded and sun-washed, a house that lets the landscape stay the loudest thing in the room.

LESANTE CAPE
Perched on the Akrotiri cape in Zakynthos, Lesante Cape is a five-star member of The Leading Hotels of the World, a stone-built village tiered down the hillside to meet the sea. The setting is elemental and romantic: honey-toned stone, timber-beamed pergolas and frameless glass that lets the dining terraces open straight onto the horizon. Almeco furnished its open-air, sea-facing tables, where rounded MARISCAL chairs and woven FARON armchairs gather guests for long meals as the light turns to dusk. Built for the salt air yet quietly refined, the pieces let the view and the architecture lead, and simply make a place worth lingering over.

SANTORINI HEART
Santorini Heart sits where its name says it does: in the centre of Fira, a few steps from the alleys, the shops and the rim of the caldera. Architect Foivos Stavridis arranged its 38 rooms and suites around a central pool, so the hotel turns inward, to a courtyard of white vaulted volumes planted with lemon trees, rosemary and jasmine. By day the life of the house gathers on that deck, where the loungers line up under SOLANTI umbrellas, SNUG pillow poufs wait beside the private plunge pools and the pool bar fills with ERNAK AL armchairs in the shade of the sails. Indoors the tone drops to earthy plaster and soft light, with a two-level lobby opening through a circular atrium onto the all-day restaurant and its wine cellar. A town hotel that keeps its calm at the busiest point of the island.

HORIZON BLU
Rhodos Horizon Blu stands on the western seafront of Rhodes Town, fifty metres from Psaropoula beach and a short walk from the Medieval City, on the side of the island where the sun goes down into the Aegean. A full renovation turned the former city hotel into an adults-only address and gave it a vocabulary the Dodecanese knows well: white arcades, pale marble underfoot, tall palms around a curved pool that seems to pour into the bay. The pool deck is furnished as one composition, with OLYMPUS sunloungers set in ranks under the scalloped canopies of the ORAMA umbrellas, so the terrace reads as a single gesture from the restaurant windows to the water. Behind the arches, the dining room and the lounge bar keep the same airy register, every seat turned towards the view. It is a hotel made for the long Rhodian afternoon, and for the sunset that ends it.

IDUNU VILLAS
Set within an acre of Cretan olive groves near Panormo, in the Rethymno countryside, Idunu is a single-storey villa that markets itself on serene seclusion, a private sanctuary turned toward the valley rather than the sea. A long, near-infinity pool faces the groves and distant mountains, with a louvred bioclimatic pergola shading the outdoor kitchen and table. There, outdoor armchairs on slim pedestal bases pull up for open-air meals, while SURF sunloungers stretch out along the pool through the afternoon, and indoors TRINITA chairs ring the dining table. It is pastoral and sun-drenched, a rustic-modern retreat that keeps the Cretan countryside close on every side.

CALORE VILLAS
In the Rethymno countryside of Crete, at Pigianos Kampos, Calore is a large contemporary villa built for groups around an idea of effortless elegance, its clean white volumes set against panels of rough local stone and looking out to the hills. A geometric pool with sunken seating wraps the lower facade, shaded by broad square parasols. Along its edge, LUXOR sunloungers and round BUNNY daybeds set the resort-like poolside scene, while against the stone wall a low OLYMPUS sofa and a VAGONG lounge chair gather around ODISHA tables for a shaded sitting room in the open air. It is sleek, light-filled and quietly luxurious, a private house that behaves like a small resort.

Cafe
PLAZA CAFÉ
Plaza Café occupies the ground floor of the NJV Athens Plaza, on Syntagma Square, and has long worked as one of the city's fixed meeting points: morning coffee with the newspapers, a business lunch, a drink before the theatre. Its renovation kept that role and changed the mood, trading hotel-lobby neutrality for something closer to a club room, with dark stone tables, banquettes along the walls and tall pleated curtains washed with light from below. The CRUZITA dining armchairs set the tone, rounded and generously upholstered, the kind of seat that lets a meeting run over. Along the glass front, DOVELL WB stools line a high counter that looks straight onto the square, the best place in the room to watch Athens go by. It remains what it has always been, the living room of the city centre, only better dressed.

Restaurant
MIRELLA
Mirella brings Naples to the new town of Rhodes, on Dimitriou Theodoraki street, in the middle of the city's shopping quarter. The kitchen works by the Neapolitan book, with ingredients sent from Naples and a domed oven in full view behind the bar, and the room was designed with the same honesty: shelves stocked like an Italian pantry, a long fluted banquette, and a ceiling of oversized fabric shades that lowers the light to the level of conversation. Around the tables, ABBEY ROPE dining chairs bring a woven, handmade note to the dark timber, while SECCO TESSUTO stools line the counter for anyone who wants to watch the pizzaiolo at work. Outside, under the ficus trees of the pavement, the RIERA AL chairs carry the same texture into the open air. A neighbourhood trattoria with the manners of a proper restaurant.

SOLEIL VILLAS
Among the olive groves outside Lithakia in southern Zakynthos, a kilometre from Agios Sostis beach, Soleil is a trio of modern private-pool villas built on understated design and premium materials, quiet, family-friendly and a world away from the crowds. Cream rendered walls, deep pergola overhangs and frameless glass frame terraces that look out only onto green. On the covered terrace, outdoor armchairs surround an ORIENTA-based dining table for meals in the shade, while a long CONCEICAO daybed stretches by the balustrade and a ROXIE armchair marks out a softer reading corner. It is serene and sun-drenched, an organic-modern calm that stays close to the land.

ATHENS 1890
In the heart of Athens, on Agia Irini Square, 1890 is the restaurant of the Athens 1890 hotel, set inside a protected nineteenth-century neoclassical mansion that once mixed commerce with private residence. The restoration keeps the building's drama, patterned mosaic floors, a double-height room and a full-height, ladder-served wall of bottles, then softens it with warm light, lush greenery and intimate banquettes. Across the white-clothed tables, cane-backed SECCO chairs on slender OMICRON bases hold the room's relaxed, unpretentious elegance, the kind of place built for a long evening of Greek flavours through French technique. Heritage and modern hospitality meet here without fuss, the furniture content to let the architecture sing.

BARD DE SOL
Bard de Sol sits on the cliffs above Agios Stefanos beach on Mykonos, a small boutique hotel and Mediterranean kitchen that looks out over the old port and the open Aegean. Its architecture is pared-back Cycladic: troweled off-white walls, large-format stone paving and a reed-batten pergola that lays striped shadows across the terrace through the afternoon. An infinity pool runs to the edge of the view, and a column of rough-cut stone anchors the dining area beside it. GION lounge chairs are drawn up at the pool, their woven cord and timber frames easy against the plaster, while RIERA dining chairs gather around the table where the sea fills the horizon.

REBEK VILLAS
On the northern tip of Zakynthos, above the bay at Agios Nikolaos, Rebek Villas is a small retreat of suites and a villa that opened to the Ionian in 2022. The buildings set rough natural stone against smooth white render, with scrolled iron balustrades and a rustic timber pergola roofed in reed, and the terraces step down toward an infinity pool that meets the sea. Days run from bright noon to a long golden dusk over the water. ESAS sunloungers line the pool under fringed parasols, a HUGHESS sofa holds the stone-walled terrace for the evening, and the sea-view veranda is set for dinner around a BENTO table beneath a woven pendant.

SANI CLUB
Sani Club spreads across the pine slopes and olive groves at the end of Sani Resort, on the Kassandra peninsula of Halkidiki, a beachfront retreat of bungalow suites above a soft Aegean bay. Around its free-form pool the ground is laid in terrazzo and dry-stone retaining walls, a mature olive tree rises from a raised planter, and tall parasols throw shade across the deck. The light is high and Mediterranean, the planting clipped and green. LOMAS and LONG-BAY sunloungers run in rows along the water, with a MARINERO side table set between them within reach of the shade.

ONE CAPSULE
One Capsule is a freestanding modular pod set on a timber deck in a planted garden, a compact stay shaped as a single rounded volume. Its microcement shell is broken by a recessed window screened in vertical wood slats, and inside the space stays deliberately spare: a dark microcement ceiling, large stone-look tiles, full-height glazing behind sheer curtains and a line of light at the threshold. Ornamental grasses and young trees gather close around it under a soft sky. An ANDOVER lounge chair sits by the window where the curtain filters the light, and a pair of TUAMOTU armchairs flank a small round table out on the deck.

PALACIO ARRILUCE
Palacio Arriluce occupies a 1912 palace on the Basque coast at Getxo, just outside Bilbao, a Leading Hotels of the World address where the Cantabrian Sea meets the old Neguri district of shipping families. The restoration keeps the building's English historicist character: carved wood library panelling, herringbone parquet, ornate cornicing and a run of weathered stone columns opening onto the marina. Light moves from the panelled salons to a terrace set above the yachts and the lighthouse. CANOAS armchairs take their place at the bar tables in the library, a PADOVA cast-iron base carries a café table nearby, and a long line of TURTLE chairs runs the length of the stone colonnade outside.

Teight is a design hotel in the centre of Thessaloniki, a self-styled smart hotel built on a hyperlocal idea of the city, with the Moldee kitchen on its ground floor. The interiors photographed here are its lounges and rooms, where veined stone tops, wide-plank floors, lined drapery and black-and-white views of the city set a quiet, tactile tone. Seating is low and considered, the lighting soft and ambient. PEACH BOY
Peach Boy is a specialty-coffee and brunch room in Thessaloniki, a young, graphic café that leaves its shell on show. Plaster walls are stripped back to their layers, the ceiling runs with exposed concrete and ductwork, and a skater mascot mural and white neon hold the back wall above plywood counters and polished floors. The mood is playful and a little industrial. COLLEGE chairs gather at the bistro tables on slim tubular frames, MINDELO tables anchor the room, and a cube-form FERNARDO armchair sits against the patinated wall as a place to settle in for a while.

LIBERTINE
Libertine is an all-day drinkery on a street corner in Nea Filadelfeia, Athens, a neighbourhood bar that runs from morning coffee to late cocktails. Behind a deep-green shopfront the room is pure Belle Epoque theatre: chequerboard tiled floors, a gilt-trimmed back bar lined with globe lights, velvet banquettes, hand-painted walls and a cherub fountain crowned with a palm. Out on the pavement terrace, festoon bulbs and potted greenery soften the edges. Bentwood TH01 chairs sit at the marble-topped tables inside, woven GRENOBLE chairs take the terrace, and a cast-iron PADOVA base steadies a round table by the door.

MOLDEE
Moldee is a bar and restaurant in central Thessaloniki, set on the ground floor of a listed 1970s building and designed around the idea of a fine-dining plate. The architecture is sculptural and restrained: speckled terrazzo underfoot, ribbed plaster panels lit from within, a curved ceiling that carries the light and a fluted bar topped in marble, all of it kept quiet so the food stays the focus. Full-height glazing opens the room to the street. IALNA
Ialna is a boutique hotel inside the castle walls of Ioannina, a restored nineteenth-century stone manor in the old town of Epirus.
